wanyi looked at herself in the mirror forcing herself to smile like she does everyday
what’s the use of trying.. he’s wayyy out of my league
she smiled sadly picturing the same girl she saw at the mall with ricky
she was moreover beautiful.. and seemed like she can make ricky happy looking at the way he smiled at her
if he’s happy.. then i’m good
wanyi thought and grabbed her bag to go downstairs
“gET DOWN HERE XU WANYI WE’RE GONNA BE LATE”

wanyi couldn’t finish her sentence but slipped and fell from the stairs with minghao laughing his ass off at his sister who was now on the floor

cant even attempt to be mysterious knowing im surrounded by these loud ass people

wanyi walked towards her locker by herself this time feeling like her knees were about to drag her down to the floor any minute
she tiredly rested her head on the lockers i hate maths..
just as wanyi thought about maths and its evil forces she was taken aback by a loud sound of someone’s locker being shut
her eyes shot opened in astonishment and look to the direction of the sound
and there was ricky, standing tall and handsome, perfectly groomed and dressed for the day looking so elegant and breathtaking
like always…
wanyi’s mouth shot opened halfway, and stood straight as she balanced herself
the bright haired boy tilted his head at the girl gazing into her eyes
the small head movement was enough to make her heart do a double backflip and fluttering around
ricky who was used to wanyi’s everyday interaction waited for her to greet him a “good morning” or a ” hello”
but he wasn’t getting it any time soon
“what are you staring at”
he said coldly and her eyes averted away from his sharp eyes
“oh it’s nothing” wanyi stared at the ground and walked away from ricky to the other direction leaving him confused
ok..? go off xu wanyi get away from me i don’t even care about you
ricky scoffed still denying he has some mixed feelings towards her and headed to his classroom
wanyi on the other hand only held herself in for the first time
she knows if she talks to him, he won’t even give her an answer and just walk away again
instead of being hurt by his actions, she had decided she should just stop because ricky is happy with someone already
“wanwann~” wanyi turned her head to where the voice came from
it was yujin happily skipping towards her with open arms putting on the brightest smile
“yuji-” she couldn’t make out her words when yujin tightly hugged the older girl
thanks for the hug yujin, i really needed it
“hi yujin” she managed to speak out
“i don’t want to attend classes” yujin whined and wanyi could barely hear his muffled words as his face was burried into her shoulders
“it’s just few hours cmon i’ll drop you off to your class”
wanyi broke the hug and smiled at her fake little brother
“let’s go to the snackbar” yujin smiled and hopped trying to convince her to come with him
“yujin, you need to stop eating too much snacks” wanyi chuckled softly as his smile dropped “but you always-“
“are you going to be stubborn?” wanyi frowned, her hands on her waist as yujin looked down at his feet pouting
“fine” he sighed and agreed on attending classes anyway
“he’s never like this with me”
gyuvin appeared out of nowhere with a half eaten bread in his mouth
“gOSH! what the fuc- what are you?! ENDERMAN?” yujin was startled by gyuvin’s sudden appearance and yelled in shock at the tall dude who kept a straight face
after dropping the youngest to his classroom wanyi was now left with gyuvin who smiled at her cheekily

“weirdo” wanyi looked at him weirdly
“now can i drop YOU to your class like you did with yujin”
he grinned and wanyi just sighed

it was the day of the basketball trial selection already
majority of the students had left to go home uninterested and unbothered with basketball while some went up to the court to support their friends
“trial is starting yoo” gunwook said and went inside zhanghao and wanyi’s classroom with yujin following behind
“what am i even gonna do there.. ” wanyi mumbled while packing her bag
“to watch ricky” the three boys said at the exact same time in sync
wanyi looked at them unsure of what to say “cmon wANWAN IT’LL BE FUN” gunwook said and pulled the girl with him and ran off as zhanghao and yujin followed behind
wanyi gulped and her anxiety rose when she saw they were slowly nearing towards the huge doors of the indoor basketball court
there weren’t a lot of people watching the trial
wanyi had her eyes inside the lines looking for someone specific but wanting to seem nonchalant about it
“looking for riickkyyy?” zhanghao wiggled his eyebrows at wanyi who frowned at him in annoyance “shut up.”
but she didn’t deny anything because it was true all along
they were heading towards the bleachers, and that was when wanyi finally found the one boy she’d been looking for
he wasn’t doing anything at the moment
he just stood there observing the other players trying to dodge each other
all of the players wore the same school basketball jerseys but ricky seemed to look better than the rest and outshined them all
he had his headbands on again like last time as strands of his noticeable white hair fell forward in front of his eyes
his silver chains were dangling around his neck as his strong sharp gaze fell on to the basketball
wanyi’s heart was beating so fast at the sight and felt her ears heating up
they sat at the bleachers where the rest of the guys were and wanyi seated herself between hao and gunwook
the coaches gave the players some advice before the selection
they started off first by testing their actual skills before playing a match amongst each other and ricky never missed the hoop
“woahh.. he is insane!”
“that ricky guy never misses”
“he’s so cooool!”
“everything isn’t all about ricky, jingxiang is good too”
“i personally find jingxiang very hot”
“ahh i like gyuvin so much! he’s like a puppy“

some girls were getting hyped and their whole conversation could be heard from where wanyi and the guys were seated
“you hear that? your prince charming is a star player”
gunwook smiled and teased wanyi nudging his shoulders at the girl who hesitantly smiled
she was kinda irked by the feeling of knowing ricky actually has real talent and is a popular boy everyone’s in love with
he can obviously get any girl he wants and there’s me chasing after him
there are lots of beautiful girls who could be more close to ricky’s type
wanyi thought.. as her eyes followed the steps of the white haired boy knowing she would never have a chance with someone like him
her self esteem lowered frequently for the past few days and lost interest in even talking to ricky although her feelings never changed
everyone was screaming and howling over some match which isn’t even the real game yet and wanyi just sat there
her mind dozing off somewhere
“wanwan you alright?” zhanghao reassured she was still on earth and tapped her shoulder
wanyi answered with a nod and smiled tiredly
after an hour or so, the trial ended
it was not as shocking to know that ricky obviously got in the basketball team which would be representing their school
the same went to gyuvin jingxiang and jeonghyeon and the four of them did a little roblox dance celebration
the group then ran down towards the benches where the four of them sat
“yOU DID WELL!”
“you guys were awesome!”
gunwook and matthew massaged gyuvin on the shoulder who put on a huge smile
“thanks guyss!”
“we couldn’t have done it without y’all cheering for us”

the louder ones walked at the front heading to the locker rooms for the four dudes to firstly change into their uniforms
and behind them walked the two introverted wanyi and zhanghao
“let’s see how more wild they can get”
zhanghao spoke in a quiet tone making the girl next to him snicker
just then gyuvin came and nudged zhanghao away with his hips signalling him to get lost
hao gave him a dramatic glare and walked with hanbin
“wanwan!” gyuvin grinned at the shorter girl and hopped right beside her so they can walk together
“oh hii”
“did ya see me playy“
“well obviously cuz i’ve eyes, you did so well! i can’t wait to see you play at the real matches”
the statement she gave out of all the praises gyuvin got earlier didn’t beat wanyi’s even in a slightest bit
it made his heart flutter more than anyone else’s compliments and made him the happiest
“thank you.. hmm better than ricky?” gyuvin smiled squinting his eyes at wanyi who stuttered nervously
“u-uhmm.. you’re both equally good”
gyuvin ; kind of being disappointed in her half hearted answer nodded and just laughed it away
the boys went to the locker room to change while the others waited outside
“im going to wash my hands, i accidentally touched gyuvin’s sweaty ass hands”
wanyi said showing an unpleasant expression making hao laugh at her face
“don’t be too long we might as well just leave you” zhanghao who leaned back at a wall said as he gestured her to walk her way to the washroom
she entered a washroom located next to the boy’s locker room not even caring if there was a sign of gender classification.. or did wanyi not notice it on her way
after washing whatever was on her hands wanyi looked at her reflection for the last time
after giving herself a contented look she walked towards the exit clueless of what she was about to come in contact with
the door creaked opened revealing ricky who looked at her the same way she did
flustered and shocked
“the hell are you doing at a boy’s bathroom”

“the hell- uh ok bye” wanyi stared at him weirdly and dodged him on her way out
“xu wanyi..” ricky trailed over the girl as she walked out
was she just hallucinating still not out of her delusional world or was it really ricky calling her by her name
wanyi cautiously turned back to face ricky who stood in front of the door which was already closed from the inside
arms crossed and standing tall
she had to look up to him because of the obvious height difference
her eyes were now on ricky’s captivating sharp eyes which.. for the first time ever wasn’t a deep glare or a disgusted look
instead of a cold stare, he looked at the girl with a more easeful stare which she never thought she would get
“are you over me?”
he said breaking the loud silence with an expressionless face leaving wanyi confused
but regarding or whatever question he had asked, wanyi was filled with happiness seeing ricky talk to her for the first time ever
few seconds of silence took place again; the two pairs of eyes still fixing onto each other
“no.. im not” wanyi said with expectant eyes
“but you’re seeing gyuvin and jingxiang” ricky scoffed and broke the eye contact as his eyes averted to anything but wanyi’s eyes
“you’re such a liar xu wanyi“
“what are you saying?”
“are you trying to collect boys like pokemons or what” he smirked
“no! i have never had even a slight bit of feelings for anyone.. but you” she said as her voice softened in the last sentence
“actually ricky, im starting to get tired..” wanyi started and ricky went back to fixing his gaze on her glistening eyes
“im going to get over you ricky shen, making efforts and talking to you is like talking to a rock”
her eyes drooped in sadness and stared at him a frown on her face “but before that.. i hope you know the things i used to say to you all came from the heart”
wanyi spoke as she felt like she was about to cry
“ofc you’ll keep quiet.. that’s all you ever d-“
“you can’t get over me.. and you won’t”
“huh?”
ricky whose eyes were fixed on the girl then slowly walked towards her
the shocked wanyi backed away until her back came in contact with the cold walls
“what do you mean by that?”
“i can’t allow it” ricky smirked and he noticed the light pink hues on her cheeks and her shocked expression
cute.
“you’re just gonna play with my feelings again..” wanyi spoke with a frown and looked down
“i never even played with it in the first place”
ricky shrugged and then walked to the other direction as his hands reached to the handle of the door opening it and slammed it hard behind him
what does he mean by that?
wanyi scratched her nape and walked back with mixed feelings and confusion where the others waited
“wanwan!” yujin happily waved his hands at the girl without a clue of knowing what happened a minute ago
wanyi shrugged it off and invited herself into their conversations
“no yujin a hotdog cannot be a fucking sandwich”
“but it’s sandwiched between breads”
“omg! sHUT THE HELL UP”
